Installed and updated the game on real hardware. Attempted to play it, built a building, tilled some fields. Looked good, but then it would not exit. When I got to the point where I was to confirm that I wanted to exit the game and clicked on "yes," the mouse cursor disappeared. The game kept playing at that same point, as if waiting for the confirmation. No response to mouse or keyboard. Finally had to use ctrl-alt-delete to get to the shut down screen, but even then the mouse cursor was still gone. Same thing happened in VirtualBox. That time I tried doing different things, but again when I tried to exit, the cursor disappeared when I clicked on the confirmation. I know that this is an alpha, and problems are to be expected, but this is just way too much to let it go. It's not ready for QA yet.

Good catch, I can reproduce the system freeze on exit in Cauldron. That's definitely a no-no. I see upstream is close to releasing Alpha 25 (currently at RC2), so I'll give that one a try, and report the issue upstream if it's still valid. In the meantime I take this bug back, it's not ready for QA.

I confirmed that the exit issue is fixed in Alpha 25 RC 2. I'll wait for the final release to push a new update candidate.

Updated the Alpha 24 version in the VBox guest from Comment 1, and in another guest installed the Alpha 23 version and updated it to Alpha 25. In both, ran the tutorial for a while, built some buildings, tilled a field, then moved to exit. This time, with each, the game appeared to exit cleanly. Looks OK to me. Validating. Advisory in Comment 5. On a side note, I have some experience at tilling fields myself in real life, and it's MUCH more fun than doing it here, virtually. Of course, I use a tractor...
