Description of problem: I installed gnome-calendar. I opened the pop-up window "about" accessible in the three-points-menu (above right). But, I can't close the pop-up window anymore. As a result, the application is blocked and can't be used anymore. The only solution is a kill + PID in the terminal. I tried several times and got the same result. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): - gnome-calendar.x86_64 => 40.1-1.mga9 => cauldron-x86_64 How reproducible: by opening the pop-up window "about" Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install gnome-calendar 2. run it 3. open the pop-up window "about"
Trying (under Mate) gnome-calendar-3.38.2-3.mga8, what I found re the 'About Calendar' window is: - The 'Close' button does nothing - the real bug. - Clicking the top-right 'X' dismisses the window. - Or doing Alt/F4 kills it; both being standard methods. I am changing the bug title accordingly. Unless the Cauldron version of this behaves differently, it looks as if your assertions: "I can't close the pop-up window anymore" "the application is blocked" "The only solution is a kill + PID in the terminal" are not true; but the main complaint about the 'Close' button not working is. Please say whether the close-window 'X' works or not; also Alt/F4. It would be more serious if it does not. Assigning to the Gnome group re the Close button.

- On Cinnamon, the "close" button doesn't work and the pop-up window is not decorated. So, there is no "x" - On Plasma, the close button doesn't work but the pop-up window is decorated. Clicking on the "x" closes the window. My assertions are true. I just forgot to precise the desktop environment.
No 'X' to close a window is rare. Is it a natural state, or something you configured? I must try this on Cinnamon. What about Alt/F4 ?

Hello, Attached you will find a screenshot. After another test, I confirm that the pop up window is not decorated (cinnamon). Alt/F4 closes the window. Benoît
(In reply to Benoît Boudaud from comment #5) > Alt/F4 closes the window. OK, you *can* close the window! Alt/F4 is a standard way of doing so. Thanks for the Cinnamon screenshot.

Just a footnote to say that the lack of a window top bar - and hence an 'X' to close it - for "About Calendar" looks as Cinnamon special. I confirm its absence on non-tweaked Cinnamon; but it *is* present under Gnome (& works)!
current version is gnome-calendar-40.2-1.mga9 for Cauldron!
