Description Muhammad Tailounie 2021-05-09 13:32:20 CEST
Using Pidgin with XMPP (Jabber account) works pretty good except for message encryption using OMEMO.

The library needed in order to add OMEMO support to pidgin is "lurch", which adds OMEMO support to the purple library.

Hi, thanks requesting this.

For "lurch", I do some homework not belonging to a Bugsquad member:

https://github.com/gkdr/lurch

Licence:
GPL-3

Based on this, this package request is valid.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might, if there are no license or other legal issues, want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You, Muhammad Tailounie, might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

Packagers: please also try to add this as a backport to Mageia 8, if possible.

I am already being mentored by neoclust, even though his time is quite limited. I am working on apfs right now, but still have not been able to get a working RPM.

I might give lurch a try though and check with my mentor. :)
