Beginning with LO 7 there is a regional option to convert << and >> into the angular quotation marks used in Spanish. That is not working in the current build, but does work in the same release built by TDF (tested on the same machine in a debian-based distro). To replicate: Open LibreOffice Writer Check Autocorrection options to see that the regional option to make the conversion is available and activated In a document type << and/or >> Expected behavior: these characters convert automatically to angular quotation marks Actual behavior: No conversion occurs Additional notes: This error happens on a Pentium N4200 laptop with integrated graphics. To date all LO 7 builds in Cauldron running on a 2nd gen i5 Optimus laptop have behaved properly.
In theory they choice of default language should not affect this option, but I also note that LO is defaulting to en_UK as the language for documents. Changing that option in settings is not preserved when opening a new document, let alone after restart. Writing aids also show only English dictionaries (except for es in the Language Tool extension) even though autocorr-es and hunspell-es are installed.
Thank you for the reports. > That is not working in the current build > This error happens on a Pentium N4200 laptop with integrated graphics. > To date all LO 7 builds in Cauldron running on a 2nd gen i5 Optimus > laptop have behaved properly Are you saying that the behaviour differs between machines? Or that the faults occur just with the current release libreoffice-7.0.4.2-5 ?

Reporter, could you please reply to the previous question? If you don't reply within two weeks from now, I will have to close this bug as OLD. Thank you.

Sorry, I missed the previous question. What I was trying to say is that all the builds of 7.x in Cauldron have worked properly on my Optimus laptop. I noted this simply because I assume that this version was in Cauldron and functioning properly prior to the final release of Mageia 8. That said, I must apologize as I had not tested LO in safe mode. Having just done so I discovered that it DOES default to Spanish and the regional features work properly. For whatever reason it seems that LO needs more frequent changes in profiles these days, as I discovered the other day when importing csv file to calc in Cauldron did not work properly. With apologies for not testing adequately before making the report.
