cloned from bug 28466 c37 Our tool IsoDumper only use sha3 checksum files, but for the small boot images we only provide old style md5 and sha256 checksums. Also, the download site only offer the sha256 type, for netinstaller see https://www.mageia.org/en/downloads/get/?q=Mageia-8-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso ( For the larger ISOs we do provide all three checksum types, see i.e https://ftp.acc.umu.se/mirror/mageia/iso/8/Mageia-8-x86_64/ AND the download site list all three, i.e https://www.mageia.org/en/downloads/get/?q=Mageia-8-Live-Xfce-x86_64.iso so OK there )

fixed manually on primary mirror for mga7 and mga8. Cauldron fix is queued in svn and land on mirrors in a few hours when kernel-5.11.11-2.mga9 is built and the netinstall isos are rebuilt with that kernel

Thank you for fixing the files that quick :) (In reply to Morgan Leijström from comment #0) > Also, the download site only offer the sha256 type, for netinstaller see > https://www.mageia.org/en/downloads/get/?q=Mageia-8-netinstall-nonfree- > x86_64.iso Reopening for the download site to offer all checksum files for netinstaller, like it do for the Live and classic ISOs. ( basically copy appearance of i.e https://www.mageia.org/en/downloads/get/?q=Mageia-8-Live-Xfce-x86_64.iso )

Whoa! It feels like you are just sitting eagerly waiting for us to send you tasks to do :-) What a speed! --- Minor complaint: Link and examples for md5 files are missing (Not crucial but we have corresponding on download pages for the big ISOs) --- While we are at it, I suggest to a add a text like this on the download checksum describing pages: Our tool IsoDumper (writes images to USB sticks and DVD) ( https://wiki.mageia.org/en/IsoDumper_Writing_ISO_images_on_USB_sticks ) will automatically use the .sha3 file to verify the written content, if the .sha3 file is placed in the same folder as the .iso file.
@Isobuilders: Requesting gpg files too (like for the big ISOs) for netinstaller at least, and at least for sha3. --- @Atelier: Download pages for both netinstaller and the big isos should have links to at lest the sha3 gpg files too, and text like this on the download checksum describing pages: Our tool IsoDumper (writes images to USB sticks and DVD) ( https://wiki.mageia.org/en/IsoDumper_Writing_ISO_images_on_USB_sticks ) will automatically use the .sha3 file to verify the written content, if the .sha3 file is placed in the same folder as the .iso file. If also the .sha3.gpg file is there, IsoDumper will check the validity of the .sha3 file.

We stopped supporting Mageia 8 almost 8 months ago https://blog.mageia.org/en/2023/12/30/mageia-8-end-of-life/ That means we also stopped fixing Mageia 8 bugs and that this bug report needs to be closed, regardless of whether it was fixed for Mageia 8 or not. If this particular bug did not get fixed for Mageia 8, then we do regret that. If this issue is still present in Mageia 9 or cauldron, then please reopen this report, write a comment and adjust the "Version:" field. If you are not yet a member of one or our teams, then please consider becoming one. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Contributing Mageia is a community project, meaning that we, the users, make Mageia together. The more active contributors we have, the more bug reports will get fixed. Besides, being active in a team can be very rewarding. It was and is certainly rewarding to me :-D
