Description of problem: Mageia Welcome screen doesn't show on 1st boot after installing Mageia8 with IceWM only. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install Mga8 using Mageia-8-x86_64.iso 2. When you reach DESKTOP SELECTION, choose CUSTOM, then untick Plasma and tick OTHER DESKTOP. This will install IceWM only 3. Finish your install and reboot. 4. See that Mageia Welcome screen is not present, and MW has not been installed.
Thank you for this report. Luckily not harmful; nor probably even inconvenient, since anyone doing this will very likely be familiar with Mageia. Assigning this to MageiaTools group for the future installer.

On my Mageia 7 installation ... $ rpm -q --whatrecommends mageiawelcome task-enlightenment-1-11.mga7 task-cinnamon-minimal-4.0-4.mga7 task-mate-minimal-1.22.0-1.mga7 task-gnome-minimal-3.32.0-2.mga7 task-lxqt-0.14.1-1.mga7 task-plasma5-minimal-5.15.4-1.mga7 task-xfce-minimal-4.14-1.mga7 task-lxde-7-1.1.mga7 Someone choosing to install only icewm-light likely wants a minimal install and would not want the qt5 dependencies it requires. # urpmq --requires-recursive mageiawelcome |grep ^qt qtbase5-common qtdeclarative5 qtgraphicaleffects5 qtquickcontrols5 qttranslations5 I'm tempted to close this as invalid, but will leave it open for discussion.
