Well, as both chrome & firefox have dropped support for Flash, do we still want lightspark?

So you can test lightspark-0.8.4.1-1.mga7 in Core/Updates_testing! also same for mga8 with lightspark-0.8.4.1-1.mga8.

Hi, I installed the deps., lightspark-mozilla-plugin-0.8.4.1-1.mga7.x86_64 Do 04 Mär 2021 17:24:33 CET lib64sdl2_mixer2.0_0-2.0.4-2.mga7.x86_64 Do 04 Mär 2021 17:24:33 CET lib64lightspark0-0.8.1-4.mga7.x86_64 Do 04 Mär 2021 17:24:33 CET but there's still the error. See attachment https://bugs.mageia.org/attachment.cgi?id=12420
Additional info: If I also install lightspark-ppapi-plugin-0.8.4.1-1.mga7.x86_64.rpm then firefox states "Firefox Can’t Open This Page To protect your security, www.adobe.com will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window." If then clicking on "open site in new window", then adobe's "end of life" page opens

Hi I created a site with one hundred of panoramas that could be displayed by Flashplayer Since Flashplayer as reached EOL it's a pity ! hours of work are going to garbage Lightspark is the one solution (still under development) to save this I will attach 3 files to test it (put them in the same directory and then click on the htm file... to open it in firefox, allow the plugin) the 0.8.3-3 version nearly works... but the 0.8.4.1 is worse !!!

Some progress from the dev of lightspark They corrected the regression https://github.com/lightspark/lightspark/issues/695 I created new rpms with the last git clone and the display is now like it was with version 0.8.3 But new problems appeared The version in core is the best for now (in update testing we have regressions, and the actual git-clone corrects this regression but brings new problems...)
Hi David I built an rpm with a git clone from April 18 2021 including the last commit of dbluelle https://github.com/lightspark/lightspark/commit/2b594466b43e9a7ae7739f3bf24f03c1de289769 It corrects the issues that appeared with version 0.8.4.1 https://github.com/lightspark/lightspark/issues/695 I created a ugly spec file (don't know how to name the Source0 with a git clone from this commit) But I know you are skilled to correct this It may be proposed in update-testing as an update for the actual core rpm version 0.8.3-3 You can use the test file I proposed in Comment 13
Created attachment 12662 [details] spec file for lightspark ugly spec file for lightspark You need to name correctly the Source0 to use the git-clone with this commit from april 18 2021 https://github.com/lightspark/lightspark/commit/2b594466b43e9a7ae7739f3bf24f03c1de289769
Build in progress with latest git snapshot!
Thanks ! I couldn't imagine you would answer and work so quickly NB Lightspark is still a work in progress : it's not perfect but it's the only way to display sites that were built for flashplayer and became unreadable since December 2020 (It's for this sites what Champollion was for hieroglyphs :-)
You can test now lightspark-0.8.4.1-2.git20210418.1.mga8 in Core/Updates_testing repo!
thanks David I tested it : no problem to update from core version 0.8.3.3 The regression that was in 0.8.4.1 has disappeared (corrected upstream with their last commit) but I already observed it with my homemade built rpm (the ugly spec worked form me) PS (I understand now how to correctly modify a spec file to use a github clone ) I think you may now propose it to QA for Mageia8 And that it may be included in Cauldron
Looks like this should have been assigned to QA: liblightspark-devel-0.8.4.1-2.git20210418.1.mga8 liblightspark0-0.8.4.1-2.git20210418.1.mga8 lightspark-0.8.4.1-2.git20210418.1.mga8 lightspark-mozilla-plugin-0.8.4.1-2.git20210418.1.mga8 lightspark-ppapi-plugin-0.8.4.1-2.git20210418.1.mga8 from lightspark-0.8.4.1-2.git20210418.1.mga8.src.rpm There's an older build in updates_testing for Mageia 7, but it doesn't look like it got the latest regression fixes. Dropping it from the whiteboard.

Hi David Thanks for having noticed it I was not alerted by this not appearing in updates since I had installed the updated rpm from Core/Updates_testing repo and forgot to downgrade it to the mageia8 core repo version :(
Created attachment 12897 [details] spec file for the last version of lightspark Hi I just saw that this bug is not closed and that the last rebuilt rpms (upon a git clone) hadn't been proposed to QA It's someway a good thing : The lightspark dev have published a new tagged version better than the previous and correcting display bugs Here I attached a simple spec file to test a rebuild

Hi David Thank you very much for your quick action... Besides this, I know about Firefox and it's really a pity : lightspark allows to display thousands of websites that became lost since Adobe killed FlashPlayer. (sometimes it's not possible to convert to html5 a site that took hours to build for flash ) Philippe
MGA8-64 Plasma on Lenovo B50 No installation issues. Followed Markus's recommendation, restarted Firefox 7.13 after installation, but it didn't have the plugin. Tried to add the plugin manually by referring to the file /usr/lob64/mozilla/plugins/liblightsparkplugin.so, but Firefox refuses: file might be damaged.

Strange I use Firefox 78.12.0 ESR (don't know what is 7.13...) installed : lightspark-0.8.5-1 lib64lightspark0-0.8.5-1 lightspark-mozilla-plugin-0.8.5-1 lightspark-ppapi-plugin-0.8.5-1 as updates of the previous version The plugin appears in the list of plugins of Firefox as "Shockwave Flash 12.1 r850" last update august 10th 2021 It works quite perfectly on my website : except the mouse wheel not allowing to zoom and some problem with the use of the cache (starting sometimes to display before the cache is filled : need to reload the page)
mga8, x64 Updated the packages. Restarted firefox and checked plugins to confirm the presence of the plugin. Copied the javascript and htm files attached to /var/www/html and pointed the browser at /var/www/html/p08.... That loaded a page within a page labelled firefox and displayed a series of parallel white lines on a black background. Don't really know what to make of that.
CC: (none) => tarazed25
To be more specific: Using $ firefox file:///var/.... leads to the page stating that Adobe Flash is dead. Pointing the browser athttp://localhost/p08... produces the page within a page. That does not respond to the mouse.

Try my website : http://fildidier.free.fr/flashpano/autres.htm click on Paris You will be asked to activate Flashplayer Allow this A panorama will be dysplayed you may scroll from left to right when moving the mouse left clicked or use the buttons in the bottom of the picture You may choose any other panorama on the left thumb-pictures tray : you won't be asked again to activate FlashPlayer (if the picture is greyed, reload the page with the round arrow of Firefox this will end the loading of the swf file in the cache )
Thanks Philippe. Chose Paris - a splendid view - and the buttons worked fine. A reload restore colour to the far right which came up grey to start with. Tried an alpine view as well. There are artefacts - diagonal frame markers perhaps. Anyway, the plugin works fine. @Herman. I shall give this the OK.

"diagonal frame markers" or flyback traces.
(In reply to Len Lawrence from comment #34) > Tried an alpine view as well. There are artefacts - diagonal frame > markers perhaps. Anyway, the plugin works fine. > @Herman. I shall give this the OK. It's not perfect yet (the devs are working to improve it, particularly the problem of the oblique striations) but it's better than the previous versions 8.3 or 8.4 It's a pity that now they're reaching the goal to replace Adobe FlashPlayer with an opensource program, Firefox will not support it... and let thousands of websites unreadable At least it works with Firefox ESR inside Mageia8 That's why I asked for an update
