Synergy has version checking that prevents sharing the mouse/keyboard/clipboard between different versions. As Mageia 8 is being released with version 1.13.0, the Mageia 7 version should be updated too. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Updates_policy#Version_Policy has an exception for "Software that is version-bound to an online service (games, virus scanners?) and will only work with the latest version." In this case the online service is provided by a Mageia 8 system on the same lan, so the exception requirement is met. Assigning to daviddavid who did the Mageia 8 update for synergy.
Done for mga7 in Core/Updates_testing repo!
Advisory committed to svn as ... type: bugfix subject: Updated synergy packages fix compatibility with Mageia 8 src: 7: core: - synergy-1.13.0-1.mga7 description: | As synergy only works between systems on a lan running the same version, this update syncs the version with Mageia 8, allowing synergy to be used on systems running both Mageia 7 and 8 on a lan. references: - https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28434 No regressions found testing the update between two desktop systems both running Mageia 7. I'll configure my Mageia 8 system later. Validating the update.
