In install.log, I have:
Installation failed:
        python3.8dist(iniconfig) is needed by python3-pytest-6.1.2-1.mga8.noarch

do you have online medias added ?

urpmf --provides --literal 'python3.8dist(iniconfig)'
python3-iniconfig:python3.8dist(iniconfig)[== 0]

Good question,
At first yes, but the installation process restarted 2 times, I think because of failures, each time asked If I want to add media. I don't remember if I added them each time.

Works OK in current cauldron with py3.9 and pytest 6.2.2.

$ LC_ALL=C sudo urpmi --test python-pytest
