installation of alsa-sof-firmware solves this issue.
It would be great if this package is installed by the installer.

is your system fully updated?

meaning do you have kernel-5.10.9-1.mga8 or later installed ?
Comment 2 Thomas Backlund 2021-01-21 19:01:40 CET
is alsa-sof-firmware installed?
Comment 3 christian barranco 2021-01-21 19:17:26 CET
Yes, I did an #urpmi --auto-update

I have the latest 5.10.9 kernel
Actually, I tried with a 5.9 kernel and it didn't change anything;

As explained in my bug report, alsa-sof-firmware was NOT installed by default by the installer.
By installing manually, it solved the issue.

Would be great to have it installed by default with such hardware.

that was fixed after beta2, so it should work on upcoming rc isos

Closing this 'fixed'.

@christian : First, thanks for the report and the fix.
If you do try a more recent installation, please report back (and always say from what source: net, ISO). You can still post to closed bugs; re-open if necessary.
For system + audio information:
 $ inxi -ASxx

Status: NEW => RESOLVED
Resolution: (none) => FIXED

Hi,

If the RC iso is available some time next week, I can do a full re-install on this machine to test it. After, I will not have the machine in hand anymore.

I have saved an inxi -Fxxxa from this machine:
