It would be great if this package is installed by the installer.
is your system fully updated? meaning do you have kernel-5.10.9-1.mga8 or later installed ?

Yes, I did an #urpmi --auto-update I have the latest 5.10.9 kernel Actually, I tried with a 5.9 kernel and it didn't change anything; As explained in my bug report, alsa-sof-firmware was NOT installed by default by the installer. By installing manually, it solved the issue. Would be great to have it installed by default with such hardware.
