during iso x86_64 classic install with plasma as the selection, UK region. strace gave an error during install that scripts failed to run it did not specify pre or post beta2 classical x86_64 iso How reproducible: this may be a one off, as 4 other installs completed by me did not have this issue. standard install with plasma selected as graphical install its probable that the post install updates, may replace strace and therefore not have the issue second time round, so im marking it as non critical. will attach log once bug is filed

strace has no scriplets, so it wouldn't make such an error. I see no similar type of errors in the attached log. What exactly is the error you are trying to report?
Summary: strace gave an error during install that scripts failed to run => unspecified error during install that scripts failed to runStatus: NEW => UNCONFIRMEDEver confirmed: 1 => 0Source RPM: strace off the beta 2 iso => (none)
apologies i thought it was in the installer now ive checked the logs it was in the update.log line: 1120 ^MERROR: 'script' failed for strace-5.9-1.mga8.x86_64$ regards peter and yes i can see that strace contains no pre or post scripts, but things flash up on the screen during install, and you note a record of them, but your recolection is not always 100% acurate. hope this helps, regards peter winterflood
Status now with RC take 5?

remember this was a one off for me, so i cant say that its fixed specifically all i can say, is ive not seen it repeated on any of the many RC installs ive done from the classic 64 iso i think you would be safe to mark it as fixed. it had no actual negative impact anyway. regards peter
iirc its an old rpm bug that sometimes reports wrong package name along with ther error about a script... but I dont think anyone has successfully tracked it down...

Thank you for this positive feedback. Closing it; it can always be found for Thomas' remark above; or re-opened.
