Description of problem: Running a normal KDE desktop session I can open a konsole and change to root via 'su'. But if I press Ctrl+Alt+F4 and start a terminal session I cannot login as root. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 1 updated from Mandriva 2010.2 How reproducible: Every time I attempt to login as root. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Press Ctrl+Alt+F4 2. login: root 3. entering correct password fails
can you *attach* the file /etc/security/msec/security.conf ?
Component: Release (media, process) => RPM Packages
Created attachment 816 [details] security.conf
in the file /etc/security/msec/level.secure you can see: ALLOW_ROOT_LOGIN=no So that is a feature not a bug. You can use msecgui to have a standard level, or to change this key.
so I close this one.
