Description of problem:

Running a normal KDE desktop session I can open a konsole and change to root via 'su'. But if I press Ctrl+Alt+F4 and start a terminal session I cannot login as root.

Mageia 1 updated from Mandriva 2010.2


How reproducible:

Every time I attempt to login as root.


Steps to Reproduce:

1. Press Ctrl+Alt+F4
2. login: root
3. entering correct password fails

can you *attach* the file /etc/security/msec/security.conf ?

in the file /etc/security/msec/level.secure you can see: ALLOW_ROOT_LOGIN=no

So that is a feature not a bug. You can use msecgui to have a standard level, or to change this key.
