Description of problem: In Mageio 7, the available nmap GUI is nmap-frontend. In Mageia 8, the available nmap GUI is nmapsi4. Currently, when upgrading a Mageia 7 system with nmap-frontend installed to Mageia 8, the package nmap-frontend will be uninstalled since it is not present in Mageia 8 and some of its dependencies are not available. If it is possible and easy, it would be a good idea (IMO) to have nmapsi4 installed as a replacement for nmap-frontend. Note that the user can always install nmapsi4 manually but it would be less of a surprise if it was auto-installed and the user didn't have to try and find a replacement for nmap-frontend. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): nmapsi4-0.5-0.alpha1.5.mga8.src.rpm How reproducible: Always.

Normally it is fixed with nmapsi4-0.5-0.alpha2.2.mga8 which provide nmap-frontend: $ urpmq --provides nmapsi4 application() application(nmapsi4-admin.desktop) application(nmapsi4.desktop) nmap-frontend nmapsi4[== 0.5-0.alpha2.2.mga8] nmapsi4(x86-64)[== 0.5-0.alpha2.2.mga8]
The nmapsi4 is still not auto selected/installed when upgrading. $ urpmf --urpmi-root /var/lib/machines/marte_cauldron -f -m --name nmapsi4 Core Release:nmapsi4-0.5-0.alpha2.2.mga8.x86_64 Core 32bit Release:nmapsi4-0.5-0.alpha2.2.mga8.i586
This caught me out too - NMAP GUI gets lost on a 7->8 upgrade. I agree with PC_LX that it would be better if the nmapsi4 package were automatically selected if nmap-frontend was installed on 7, particularly as this change is not mentioned in the release notes.
