Description Philippe Didier 2020-12-23 12:13:11 CET
Guyadeque can now be installed and used in Mageia 8 (thanks to Pterjan and Wally)

Nevertheless we can't modify its settings (I will join the bug message)

I sent this bug upstream (url given) and anonbeat (guayadeque dev) immediately added changes to the code (yesterday night ! )

He proposes to check his latest changes that may correct this bug (caused by the new wxgtk too)

Perhaps instead of adding a new patch the last 0.4.6 tag would it be necessary to package from the last master code from december 22nd 21h UTC

Thank you for raising this separate bug, and its details.

As for its team-mate bug 27899, assigning this one globally and CC'ing the packagers who fixed an earlier bug 27837 for the same package.

@Philippe : Would you consider maintaining this package? You clearly know what you are about. https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

Hi Wally
Thanks for having added the patch from the last commit of anonbeat

I tried it but unfortunately that ends with the same problem...

I sent the new bug file to anonbeat
https://github.com/anonbeat/guayadeque/issues/112

I will attach this new bug file to this bug report

NB
Some commits improved the last tag (0.4.6) but are not proposed as patches in the mageia rpm (particularly the updated lyric sources)

for instance, for my personal use, with Mageia7 I downloaded the new lyrics_sources.xml and copied it in home/myname/.guayadeque crashing the previous one

Perhaps would it be better to work with the last master git clone than with a patched tagged 0.4.6 version (missing some of the last commits)

Hi Jani
and thanks a lot
(and thanks to Pterjan and Wally too)

That's OK now with the last master git clone
Everything works well
Guayadeque can read everything
and we can modify its settings without bug nor crash

(and thanks to anonbeat upstream : quick answers, quick corrections)

this may now be closed as fixed and resolved
