Thanks for providing the update. The procedure for update candidates is not closing the bug report but assign it to qa-bugs@ml.mageia.org so that it can be tested by QA team (otherwise, it will stay in updates_testing forever).

Thanks for that Thomas. I use php-eaccelerator on my servers so was very pleased to see the update. Testing on x86_64 is complete, everything works perfectly including the web control interface. php-eaccelerator-0.9.6.1-5.1.mga1.x86_64.rpm php-eaccelerator-admin-0.9.6.1-5.1.mga1.x86_64.rpm Note for anyone else testing. The default user name and password for php-eaccelerator-admin is 'admin' and 'eAccelerator' Test procedure -------------- Install php-eaccelerator and php-eaccelerator-admin on an Apache server with php enabled. Installing phpmyadmin for example will install all the necessary packages and will provide you with some sample php pages to browse. Open a browser to http://hostname/php-eaccelerator/index.php If you are using localhost you will see the admin page. If it is a remote host you will need to add your IP address in the 'Allowed' line of /etc/httpd/conf/webapps.d/php-eaccelerator.conf and restart Apache Select the 'Script Cache' in the admin page. Observe how scripts get added to the cache as you browse pages on the server (including pages in php-eaccelerator-admin itself)

Test OK also on my x86_64 system. Still, maybe we could add a desktop shortcut to the admin page like the package phpmyadmin does : it just does not hurt, while making it way easier ;-) Exec=/usr/bin/www-browser http://localhost/php-eaccelerator/
Testing complete on i586 for the srpm php-eaccelerator-0.9.6.1-5.1.mga1.src.rpm Should we go ahead and validate the update, or will comment 5 be applied?

Thomas, please see comment 5 and comment 6 Thankyou.
I will look into that at a later date. Please validate the update.
Update validated. Can someone from the sysadmin team push the srpm php-eaccelerator-0.9.6.1-5.1.mga1.src.rpm from Core Updates Testin to Core Updates. Advisory: This update provides the PHP accelerator optimizer that was available in Mandriva 2010.2, but missing from Mageia 1.

This advisory is wrong, php-eaccelerator was available but not working. Proposed advisory: The php-eaccelerator package provided with Mageia 1 didn't work because it wasn't built against php 5.3.6. This update provides a rebuilt working package.
Update pushed.
