Sorry for the rough text : I sent it too quickly
I had to write first :
Hello Martin
and in the End
Thank you for your job

Well spotted, Philippe.
But have you tried it? That would help.

Since Martin did the update (which explains the previous comment), you are best to answer this.

Source RPM: hplip-3.20.6-1 => hplip-3.20.6-1.mga7.src.rpm

Hi Lewis

I did try it with a HP Photosmart 7520 on a 64bit system (so it's a limited test)
No problem for updating the 8 rpms :
hplip
hplip-doc
hplip-gui
hplip-hpijs
hplip-hpijs-ppds
hplip-model-data (which allows new printers configuration)
lib64hpip0
lib64sane-hpaio1

No regression using the printer or the scanner

Unfortunately this is not a brand new-all-in one printer and it was already in the last database so there's nothing better to expect....

It would be useful to test this update with a new model that was not in the last database and might be in the updated one

Hope this will help

Thanks for your quick answer

I created the update for bug 26695. I was waiting for the bug reporter to report whether it worked before assigning it to QA.

Hi Martin
I didn't know the bug 26695, I just discover it
Thanks and congratulations for your patience and your calm

Thanks for this info. I have poked that bug for a response from its author. What a difference between the two bugs...

Yes indeed, and thank you for your willingness and +ve attitude.

Having checked the HP website, there's been two new releases of hplip since I prepared the update, so it's already out of date :-(

As we seem to be getting close to releasing Mageia 8, and nobody appears to be demanding an update for Mageia 7, is it worth doing it now? QA are quite busy testing Mageia 8 ISOs.
Comment 8 Philippe Didier 2020-12-13 15:24:57 CET
Hi Martin
You're perfectly right
We can close this bug ... no need to overwhelm the QA team if noone need this update
Mageia 8 will soon be here and it's now only the only one that needs an up-to-date hplip stuff

Maybe considered as resolved

Thanks for your great job
(I'm gonna try and test the just downloaded Beta2 ...)
