Created attachment 12044 [details] The 3 images mentioned are in this file "Program K3b.pdf" Mageia version 8 Bêta 64bits French language. Message at program launch: No CD/DVD/BD burner was found (picture 1). After closing the message, the K3b window displays the name of the ATAPI IHOS104 burner (picture 2). In the Mageia Control Center, the burner is also detected (picture 3). Apparently the inserted blank DVD is not recognized and I cannot burn it. The 3 images are in the file "Programme K3b.pdf" Best regards and have a nice day. Andé-Marcel Berthouzoz
Thank you for reporting this. Can you please (always) say the version of the package you are using: $ rpm -q <pkgname> $ rpm -q k3b k3b-20.08.3-1.mga8 I have just tried starting it, no problems. It correctly saw the DVD drive.

This is the same package (k3b-20.08.3-1.mga8) which is installed on my Mageia 8 Beta version that I am testing with the latest kernel (kernel-desktop-5.9.12-1.mga8). I also do all the updates that are regularly offered since November 19 (installation date of this Mageia version). I inserted a burnt DVD and the K3b program window displays the name of the media with its different directories. It's weird, this burner (ATAPI iHOS104) is only recognized as a DVD player. I keep looking for a solution. Thanks for your quick response and best regards. André-Marcel Berthouzoz
It seems that the LiteOn iHOS104 device is just a DVD player and not a burner. There is therefore no bug in the K3b program. Best regards and thanks for your work on Linux Mageia. Have a nice week end. André-Marcel Berthouzoz
