Description of problem: As discussed on Mageia-dev ML you found that systemd will not properly start rsyslog if /etc/sysconfig/speedboot is set to 'auto'. It must be 'no', else rsyslog gets started by traditional initscript and not systemd. Compare thread on Mageia-dev with sub 'systemd vs dm' of 15th September 2011 and what follows. Assigning to Colin as requested by him.
Rsyslog is not also affected. In fact with systemd enabled & autologin via kdm in kde enable, you're also loosing polkit auth, sound support (pulseaudio provides a factice audio card) etc which make useless the autologin feature. DM is probably started too early by speedboot (which indeed is the goal of speedboot :/ ).
