A lirc-remotes package is present in Mandriva 2010.1, but not in Mageia 1. While lirc-remotes is not essential for operation of lirc it is a useful collection of example lirc config files.
@ Anssi I see there is no history for this enhancement request, so it seems it was assigned to you at the same moment it was filed. Are you willing to package lirc-remotes, or would you rather reassign to Bug Squad, so maybe someone else can package it?

Last release is from 2002! The sourceforge page states in big fat letters: "Dead package. This package is not maintained, and will most likely not even build. It's kept around for reference and in case someone would like to resurrect it." https://sourceforge.net/projects/lirc/files/lircrc_config/ Also the last update to any remotes config file was in 2014: http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/ Closing as WONTFIX.
