Hello,

When using the system boot configuration (bootloader main options) in the CCM (or using drakboot), the probe foreign option contextual help tip indicate " if grub2 takes too long to install, you can use this option to skip detecting other OSes an make it fast".

Considering an option is active when checked, it might lead to confusion, because if checked other OSes are detected ( so the contrary of the contextual help).

The french translation also impacted.

Maybe the "you can use" might be replaced by "uncheck", this way the new sentence will be:

" if grub2 takes too long to install, uncheck this option to skip detecting other OSes an make it fast"

Translation unclear of the effect of the setting.

Adding a screenshot from MLO forums.

It is mentioned in French forum that English sentence is also confusing about what the setting is really doing.

Suggested correct English:

Uncheck this to prevent grub2 to scan for other installed OS on the system. Also, if grub2 takes too long time to install/update itself, uncheck this option to skip detecting other OSes and make it faster. Be aware of doing this will prevent you to boot other OS from grub2 menus.

Assigning to i18 Team and CC'd to Mageia Tools Team.

Actually, the translation is a derivative work here. So no objections to clearing up the message.

Should I patch drakx (perl-install/any.pm:741) or will it be done by the drakx maintainers?

We can wait for DrakX maintainer for advice. But we should do it before releasing M8.

Hello,
@Yuri I think that you can go ahead. This won't break any program.

Mid air collision. :-) Mind considering the following change ...

In the below, I've replaced the abbreviation "OSes" with the full operating
systems. Technically, if operating systems is abbreviated it would be OSs, which
doesn't read well. A plural for an abbreviation where the singular abbreviation
already ends in the letter "s" should be avoided if possible. I've also rewritten
it to try and make it clearer.

Suggested correct English:

Unselect this option to stop grub2 scanning for other operating systems, which will prevent them from being included in the grub2 boot menu. The option may also be unselected after installation, removing the other operating systems from the grub2 boot menu, but reducing the time needed for installing kernel updates
