Description of problem: Noticed an oddity when composing an email recently for thunderbird installed with en_GB. The status bar at the bottom of the compose window insicated that American English was in effect. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Thunderbird 68.12.0 How reproducible: Not sure. Shall keep my eye on it. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just occurred to me that this may not be an override but a simple mistake in the gui.

But, in facts, after some try... I see spellchecker defaults to look for English US... instead of French for me. So, in Preferences, Composition, Spelling, feel free to double-check English-GB is selected, for you Len (French for me is OK). So, really closing this.
