After upgrading from Mageia 5->6->7, the graphical GRUB (not GRUB2) screen in Mageia 7 has no theme/background and the default boot entries say Mageia 7 Cauldron. Mageia 6 did not have these issues.
Hi, thanks for reporting this bug. Does package mageia-gfxboot-theme properly installed? Seems doing $ urpmq --whatrequires-recursive grub draklive grub xen $ urpmq --whatrequires-recursive mageia-gfxboot-theme mageia-gfxboot-theme But this package should be a dependency of grub in order to have gfxboot menu with Mageia branding, isn't it? @David, Could you provide the file /root/drakx/report.bug.xz as an attachment? Thanks in advance.

Yes, mageia-gfxboot-theme is installed. Drakx logs won't help as this is an upgrade (via urpmi), not a new installation.
Assigning to all packagers, as GRUB as no registered maintainer. Also CC to Atelier Team.

Theme issue is fixed, the Mageia 8 artwork background is used. After the upgrade, the explicit entry for the Mageia 7 kernel is the first listed in menu.lst and there's a default=0 making it the default. The usual default is the second choice and still says "Mageia 7 Cauldron" although it does load the Mageia 8 kernel.
