Since 5.0 Linux kernel, there are such errors displaying at boot time: nvidia-gpu 0000:01:00.3: i2c timeout error e0000000 ucsi_ccg 0-0008: i2c_transfer failed -110 ucsi_ccg 0-0008: ucsi_ccg_init failed - -110 ucsi_ccg: probe of 0-0008 failed with error -110 These errors get displayed each system boot and despite every thing seems to function well, these errors are uglying plymouth Mageia splash on my system which runs with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. This affects all owner of such graphic card and never nvidia drivers are involved. Bug was reported upstream as these errors are related to a USB-C chip found on some new Nvidia RTX (! not GTX !) that Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti does not have! A patch is proposed in https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20665#14 This patch could reduce the log error level to info and should not break plymouth from displaying a good splash screen. Assigning to Kernel and Drivers maintainers.
