Description Lutz Lacher 2020-07-27 20:46:01 CEST
Description of problem:

Installing Cauldron from net-installer (http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/linux/mageia/distrib/cauldron/x86_64/install/images/Mageia-7-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso) with static network makes net_applet not display default gateway in the configuration dialog. It was an install in qemu but another user confirmed the same problem using vbox. The network works as expected with the default gateway defined in /etc/sysconfig/network. The popup on the net_applet tray icon correctly displays the default gateway

Hi @Lutz Lacher, thanks to report trouble you encountered.

Can you please produce a screenshot (with tool like "Spectacle" in Plasma) of what are you encountered?

As of today version of drakx-net-2.51-1 in Cauldron, I add screenshot of Configuration dialog of net_applet in static mode network, I can not reproduce bug.

What version are you use? Cauldron ? Mageia 7?
You referred to a Mageia 7 netinstall image ISO in Comment #0.

Regards,

Reduced priority and severity due to Network working as expected on reporter's system.

Net_applet shows gateway in Static Network Mode Configuration dialog.
Screenshot in French therefore.

@Aurelien Oudelet,

I testet both, with the same Installer-Image, Mageia 7 and Cauldron, same result.

I'm referring to this image, which is as i'm writing still online on a german Mageia-Mirror:

Ok.

Did you try to add the IP address of your gateway 192.168.110.1 in the field named Gateway? Is this saved ?

But network seems still work. You mention net_applet displays correct IP on systray icon.

In your screenshots above, I see you have selected DNS server gived by DHCP server.

Have tested this unchecked and named 198.168.110.1 as your gateway and DNS server? Does manually write this address there get things saved?

Meanwhile assigning to Mageia Tools maintainers.
