Description Morgan Leijström 2020-07-20 11:11:43 CEST
Description of problem:
Since last run I had deleted the set target folder, and forgot about it.

Now intending to sync down beta1 over alpha1, that resulted in this message in mageiasync GUI:

receiving incremental file list
Slutar med rsync://isoqa@bcd.mageia.org/isos/mageia8-beta1/Mageia-8-beta1-Live-Xfce-i586/
Signature for Mageia-8-beta1-Live-Xfce-i586.iso.md5 not found
Signature for Mageia-8-beta1-Live-Xfce-i586.iso.sha512 not found

Not knowing how mageiasync operates, that messages seems to imply the files are missing on host.

Starting mageiasync from konsole, and watching the output there, they messages include full path to where it was looking for the downloaded files, and that was in the no more existing folder.

What should happen:
§ mageiasync should tell local target folder do not exist (or create it)

§ And/or make the GUI show the same full path as the CLI output, so user can see that it is looking for the *downloaded* file, in case any download that do not succeed.

Comment 1 Dave Hodgins 2020-07-20 11:46:32 CEST
The messages about the gpg signatures missing is expected. The gpg sig files
will not be generated until beta1 is ready for release. At that point, after
the sig files are generated we use mageiasync to download the missing sig
files and verify the gpg signatures of the iso sum files. That's the last
step before the iso's are copied to the main mirror for distribution.
Those error messages should be ignored until then.

Mageia 7 is EOL since July 1st 2021.
There will not have any further bugfix for this release.

You are encouraged to upgrade to Mageia 8 as soon as possible.

@reporter, if this bug still apply with Mageia 8, please let us know it.

@packager, if you work on the Mageia 7 version of your package, please check the Mageia 8 package if issue is also present. In this case, please fix the Mageia 8 version instead.

This bug report will be closed OLD if there is no further notice within 1st September 2021.

Hi bug reporter and hi assignee and others involved,

Please reopen this bug report if it is still valid for Mageia 8 or 9(cauldron), and change "Version:" in the upper left of this report accordingly.

This report is being closed as OLD because it was filed against Mageia 7, for which support ended on June 30th 2021.

Thanks,
Marja
