Description of problem: wmwifi only gives the word "ERROR" multiple times. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. start wmwifi from the console as a regular user. 2. at least I only get the word "ERROR" written until I break it. 3. start wmwifi from the console as root. 4. at least I only get the word "ERROR" written until I break it. 5. verify that wmwifi is not present in the start menu where I think it should be, but I am not sure. I think the problem is that it does not have other packages it depends on.
Thank you for the report. If this bug is true, it suggests you are the first person to try the application. Please can you give some background: details of your WiFi hardware, driver, configuration.

Thank you for all the information. This package is variously maintained, so assigning the bug globally. CC'ing ChrisD, once its registered maintainer; This might apply to Cauldron also, so CC'ing Dave to ask QA (anyone with WiFi) to try this application for Mageia 8. Too easily done. "Wmwifi displays the signal strength, link level, noise level, name and bitrate to your current wireless access point. It is a dock application for WindowMaker or or any windowmanager/desktop environment that handles docking."

I'll have a look. Did you try wmwifi -bw ?
"wmwifi -bw" gives a tiny window with a little bit of wifi information. It is about 1/400 parts of the screen and could not be enlarged nor moved.
Yep, that's what a windowmaker applet is :) 64x64 pixels. Does it work, do you see the strength of the signal in the little window?
The window is alive. On top there is the SSID shuffling past, underneath from the left is a Wi-Fi symbol and a percentage and then to the right "LINK" with the pan flute.
Thank you for checking. This is then the expected behaviour. On some window managers, others than WindowMaker, the window may not appear, that's why you have to use the "-bw" option.
