Description of problem: After update to kernel-5.6.7-2.mga8 my boot stopped with grub > prompt I found out that the kernl and inird are not loaded. After linux /boot/vmlinuz initrd /boot/inird.img boot my system boot with no further problem. Update to kernel-5.6.7-2.mga8 did not solve the problem. Neither did update-grub2 I has to be noted that I also did a urpme --auto-orphans Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): kernel-5.6.7-2.mga8 grub2-2.04.0-11.mga8 How reproducible: At every boot Steps to Reproduce: 1. Update to kernel-5.6.7-2.mga8 (I haven't tried to reproduce by reinstallation of Mageia) 2. System will halt instantly with grub > prompt PS: How do I get my system to work corrctly again?
I'm not sure if it's the same problem, but now after kernel 5.6.7-2 and 5.6.7-3, /boot/grub2/grub.cfg no longer contains the mageia kernels menus/menu items. Editing it manually based on an old version of grub.cfg allows it to boot.

``` root@telaviv1:~ # grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg Generating grub configuration file ... It's grub2 BLS support that breaks our grub.cfg
Should be fixed with grub2-2.04.0-13.mga8 you might have to run update-grub2 manually to rebuild grub.cfg
