Description A H 2020-03-27 00:31:56 CET
Description of problem: Grub is automatically installed without asking if you want to install Grub. This will be a problem when dual booting a system which has already installed Grub.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run Mageia installer
2. Install Mageia
3. NO option found to not install a boot loader

Found your menu. It is not only hidden it is where it should not be (after the installer has decided to install grub). It is also useless because once you select the option NOT to touch the boot record. It warns you with an error message about 2-3x on why it thinks that is a bad idea. Of which you can only click on "OK" to dismiss that message and STILL installs grub after you dismiss the message.

1. Option to opt out of installing grub should not be so well hidden.

2. Option should be presented before installer has made up its mind to install grub.

3. When making the choice to opt out from installing grub the installer should respect your choice.

This does neither. Made a video of this error.

Please ignore any humming you hear. Canister for fish tank (needs new filter on back order). Where I first pick the drive. https://youtu.be/DpinunVGbS0?t=128

Then config screen I was directed toward the end of the install. You will note that grub is already decided to be installed. I had no notice about grub before this. I even have to continue saying, YES, to installing grub before I even get to the screen where I can finally say, "no" and it will ignore me. https://youtu.be/DpinunVGbS0?t=1228

Just checking the erratas
mentioned in Comment 1, i see first section is propagated to
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_8_Errata#Retaining_a_third_party_bootloader
https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Mageia_9_Errata#Retaining_a_third_party_bootloader

But the second section is not propagated to Mageia 8 & 9 erratas.
I guess it should be?
