Description of problem: Mageia7's repositories have the previous version of compiz (0.8), this version have lot of issues solved in 0.9. At Mageia6 I used mate-desktop in combination with compiz-0.9.13 (from the official repositories) and that works apropiately. Now if I try to install compiz 0.9 from Mageia6's repositories I get several dependency conflicts that blocks the installation. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.9.13 How reproducible: On a Mageia 7 with mate-desktop and all the official repositories activated, open MCC go to hardware and try to activate 3d effects -> compiz fusion, that procedure will install compiz-0.8 and you'll get lot of issues. On a Mageia 6 with mate-desktop and all the official repositories activated (testing and debug deactivated), open MCC go to hardware and activate 3d effects -> compiz fusion, that procedure will install compiz-0.9 and you could amazingly work with 3D effects. Steps to Reproduce: 1. install mageia 7 2. activate all repositories but testing and debug. 3. update your system 4. go to MCC -> Hardware -> 3D 5. activate compiz fusion 6. you'll get a compiz-0.8 (downgraded) version.

Hi all, I see that the compiz version has been downgraded. Looking more closely, I see that the mageia package is based on the gitlab version: https://gitlab.com/compiz/compiz-core which is also downgraded to version 0.8.18. A look at madb.magiea.org and I see that the Mageia 6 package was based on the launchpad version: https://launchpad.net/compiz which has version 0.9.14 updated at the end of 2022 with improvements and new features compared to the Mageia 9 version. It would be convenient to upgrade in Mageia 9 to this newer version of compiz. Greetings!!!
