Steps to Reproduce:
1. urpmi  --wget --auto-update --auto 

2. "Installation failed:    file /usr/bin/ngettext from install of
gettext-base-0.20.1-2.mga8.x86_64 conflicts with file from package
gettext-0.20.1-1.mga8.x86_64
        file /usr/bin/ngettext from install of gettext-0.20.1-2.mga8.x86_64
conflicts with file from package gettext-base-0.20.1-1.mga8.x86_64
        lib64poppler94 < 0.84.0-2.mga8 conflicts with
lib64poppler-glib8-0.84.0-2.mga8.x86_64" 

3. Tried in vain to recover using "--nodeps"

gettext issue fixed in gettext-0.20.1-4.mga8 by Pascal and David (Pascal's change was probably sufficient).

Also CC'd Jani for poppler issue.

Happy to report that 300-package Cauldron update today has cleared the problem. 

  (But kmail still crashes at startup. Premature to raise bug report?)

Let's close this then.  Hopefully upgrading from mga7 to mga8 works fine.
