Dell Inspriron 5100, 32-bit P4, 2GB RAM, Radeon RV200 graphics, 32-bit Xfce system. Updated kernel-desktop. Unfortunately, after the reboot, I'm seeing the same kind of graphics artifacts I saw with the early 5.4 series kernels. Completely unusable on this hardware as it is.

Still working OK mga7 64. Fixes bug 25930 for me. Vbox ok. Not tested - xtables.
HP Probook 6550b, i3, 8GB RAM, integrated Intel graphics, Intel wifi, 64-bit Plasma system. Updated kernel-desktop. All packages installed cleanly. Rebooted to a working desktop, read my morning newspaper online, watched part of a video with vlc, looked at a spreadsheet in Libreoffice Calc. Everything looks good. I didn't test xtables either, because I've never used them. I don't even know what they are for, or why I might want them.

Installed desktop kernel. Reboot failed to rebuild nvidia kmod or enable wifi. Configured wifi after login. Failed to connect in MCC, and network center. Succeeded with net applet. Ran drakx11 to install nvidia. Rebooted OK but connected to wifi after login so nfs shares required `sudo mount -a`. (In reply to Thomas Andrews from comment #3) > Dell Inspriron 5100, 32-bit P4, 2GB RAM, Radeon RV200 graphics, 32-bit Xfce > system. > > Updated kernel-desktop. Unfortunately, after the reboot, I'm seeing the same > kind of graphics artifacts I saw with the early 5.4 series kernels. > > Completely unusable on this hardware as it is. Not really expecting any change, I tried updating to this kernel again, along with all other pending updates, some of which were supposed to be related to the 5.5 series kernels. The artifacts were still there. For the information of other users that may be affected, and because this bug has been pushed, I have created a new bug for this issue. See Bug 26237.
Yeah, I wanted to push this one out to get those affected by the i915 crashes to get same level of security fixes that the 5.4.17 that works for you. I will try to see for the next 5.5 series to get the radeon stuff back to working condition, but I need a bit of time to figure out if I still need the reverts I did in 5.4 series or if upstream has better suggestions...
I figured it might be something like that. I didn't think I was being ignored. As I said, I filed the new bug mostly to let affected users know we are aware of the problem and working on it, and what they should do as a workaround in the meantime.
