This is a new release 1.16 of isodumper: - add format exFAT for formatting the device - add eject instruction after writing operations (mga#25347) - add option for creation of encrypted persistent partition, could be used for Mageia 8 and later (mga#24777) - fix detection of SD cards For the last point, with SD card, the device name is for example mmcblk2. Previously, it was considered that name ending with a number was a partition. Now, we don't consider a device only if it has org.freedesktop.UDisks2.Partition' interface and it is not removable.
Done for both Cauldron and mga7!

Mageia7, x86_64 Updated isodumper-qt Used isodumper to dump Mageia7.1 classic iso to 16GB USB device. Mounted it on another machine where it registered with the correct label and showed 4.2GB with `df -h`. Installed isodumper-gtk. Used that to dump the same iso to an 8GB pendrive and added a persistent partition. 4502501376 bytes written. Mounted it on the same machine. $ df -h /dev/sde1 4.2G 4.2G 0 100% /run/media/lcl/Mageia-7.1-x86_64 It looks OK here.

This needs to be tested by someone with a spare SD card.
MGA7-64 Plasma on Lenovo B50 No installation issues. Used isodumper to dump Mageia7.1 classic iso to 8Gb micro SD card using an SD-microSD adapter and a second time using an USB-microSD adapter. Checked both onmy desktop PC and contents looks OK. Will try to reboot the USB-microSD adapter. I'll be back.

Booted the USB-microSD adapter to changing language and then "Rescue system". Did nothing else there but take the "Reboot" option to get back here. All looked OK. Len, back to you.
Thanks Herman. Giving it the OK for 64-bits.
