Did you try that?
iniscripts ? =>
i tried with SPEEDBOOT=no and after restart was ok but after shutdown and reboot the problem was present.
thanks for your reply, Dimitrios
Do you mind attaching a picture?
Created attachment 1115 [details]
Photo of messages during the boot
We can see the characters transformed to white squares
thanks for the picture :)
Can initscripts be the culprit?
initscripts ? =>
I can confirm the above "strange" behavior on boot messages in the Greek installation.
Also, that is not always reproducible.
My system is x86_64 KDE.
cc'ing some initscripts committers
arnaud.patard, dmorganec, mageia, tmb
Is this bug still valid?
If so, is it also valid in cauldron?
In Mageia 1 it is still valid , i don't know in cauldron.
Now in Mageia 2 the messages are in English so there is no problem.
I prefer to have the boot messages untranslated, as it is now.

Since you're OK with how it is in Mageia 2:
Are you OK with closing this Mageia 1 bug as WONTFIX?
Yes of course, there is no problem for me.
