Description of problem: If and ssid contains hex characters (for example the ssid I ran across in Brazil ppgf_audit\xc3\xe3io_LPF then onee must enter it into /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf with the format ssid=P"ppgf_audit\xc3\xe3io_LPF" The P indicates that the string is not just a string but has a special format. This should be indicated in the man page See:http//lists.infradead.org/pipermail/hostap/2012-August/026461.html where Jouni Malinen announces this new format (in about a hidden a way as possible). Ie, the man page needs to be edited to add this option, expecially since the non-ascii world is using computers these days. Also, as suggested in 25720 it would probably be worthwhile to make the P option the default in Network Center.

Mageia 7 is EOL since July 1st 2021. There will not have any further bugfix for this release. You are encouraged to upgrade to Mageia 8 as soon as possible. @reporter, if this bug still apply with Mageia 8, please let us know it. @packager, if you work on the Mageia 7 version of your package, please check the Mageia 8 package if issue is also present. In this case, please fix the Mageia 8 version instead. This bug report will be closed OLD if there is no further notice within 1st September 2021.
