Description Lloyd Osten 2019-12-12 16:38:09 CET
Description of problem:

dvdauthor (as shipped with Mageia 7, 7.1) doesn't create working menus.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): dvdauthor .7.2-5

How reproducible: always

Steps to Reproduce:
0.I was using DevedeNg 4.1.4 to create a DVD
1.Convert a video file to DVD
2.Menu is created, but not usable. It's not selectable.
3. I downloaded dvdauthor source RPM and unpacked it.
4. I saw something that indicated there was a graphics-magick patch.
5. I used Software Installer to install the graphics-magick RPM (v. 1.33) and its associated library. These packages were NOT installed by default (they should be)
6.Problem fixed!

So which dependencies packages are really missing?

According to the forums thread https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=13092 at least graphicsmagick is missing.

Assigning to QA,

Advisory:
========================

There's a missing required dependency on the dvdauthor package from Mageia 7.
If no other packages pulling 'graphicsmagick' are installed on the computer, dvdauthor can't create working menus. This update adds this missing dependency.

========================

Packages in 7/core/updates_testing:
========================
dvdauthor-0.7.2-5.1.mga7.i586.rpm
dvdauthor-0.7.2-5.1.mga7.x86_64.rpm

Source RPM:
========================
dvdauthor-0.7.2-5.1.mga7.src.rpm

Comment 4 Thomas Andrews 2020-01-05 17:48:38 CET
Did a little exploring on one of my test installs, and discovered that lib64graphicmagick3 was installed, but graphicsmagick was not.

Then I asked to remove the library, and discovered it was a dependency of the already-installed dvdauthor, but nothing else. That was a surprise, as I expected the graphicsmagick library to be a dependency of the also-installed tainted version of imagemagick.

I don't use dvdauthor, so this may have been carried over from a previous test, perhaps even through a Mageia 6->7 upgrade install.

Anyway, used qarepo to get just the dvdauthor update, and it pulled in graphicsmagick with it as a dependency. So, given that the reporter says this is what's needed, I'm giving this a 64-bit OK.

Validating. Advisory in Comment 3.
