Description Olivier Placais 2019-09-19 22:19:30 CEST
Flameshot is a powerfull and simple screenshot software.
More powerful and efficient than spectacle on plasma

there are packages available for several distributions, but not for Mageia.

Is it possible to have one please.

I just test it on Mageia 7 Plasma x86_64

Flameshot seems to work perfectly.

The shortcut in the application launcher does not seem to work.
The command line must be "flameshot gui" to see the program appear on the screen.

Thank's for your reactivity.

Olivier

Reactivity indeed! No sooner said than done.
Thank you DavidG for such quick work; and Olivier for testing it immediately.

@David: assigning this to you initially, since you did it.
I hoped to try it, but Core Backports Testing often gets the better of me...
I think the menu icon not working needs sorting.
Then -> QA; no advisory required for backports.

The shortcut in the application launcher work as expected, as it starts flameshot in the systray toolbar.

Ah - another one of those. Thanks for the explanation. I hope no-one hopes too much from Gnome (no Systray as standard, even though we do offer one for M7).

I have been quite unable to find this package (to try) in Core Backports Testing. Can you confirm it is really there?

Should this now be re-assigned to QA for testing & release? You can do that.

Just tried it and it seems to work fine.
$ flameshot gui
Brings up the on-screen gui and parks the flameshot icon in the Mate panel.
Clicking on that launches it OK as well.

It would be great if this package can be validated and pushed to Core/Backports repo.

========================

Packages in 7/core/backports_testing:

flameshot-0.6.0-1.mga7.i586.rpm
flameshot-0.6.0-1.mga7.x86_64.rpm

Ran some more detailed tests like using colour markers to outline parts of the image. Moved the selection area around the screen. Changed the paint tool to a circle, then a pencil. Selected an application to handle the selection (chose eom to display it - that captured it as a PNG image at the same time).

This deserves the 64-bit OK. Validating it also.
