Description of problem:

"New packages" notification / popup / pop-up does not get dismissed automatically on kde5 / plasma5 / startx desktop . It just persists there until I press the "X" / close buttonm which seems to require the mouse.

Confirming the issue and reassigning to KDE team, to increase the chance that this'll get fixed, and also because, since we have maintainer groups, KDE packages get assigned to KDE team. 

Unfortunately, Lewis, none of the maintainer groups is listed as maintainer of their packages, so it can be hard to know when to assign to a maintainer group.

No longer the case.

Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade to the latest update of their distribution, and if this issue turns out to still be reproducible in the latest update, please reopen this bug with additional information.
