Peter Despite the details you provide above, you do not say what the actual problem is. What prompted you to do (which is unusual): # systemctl status configure-printer@usb-006-002.service Noting that the device works as a scanner, are we to understand that you cannot add it as a printer? That the failure relates to trying to do so? Did you use Mageia's printer configuration? Did you try with CUPS?

I haven't done detailed debugging for this (I've been having other HP problems) but I can confirm that for my HP 3030 MF configure-printer fails during boot ("[FAILED]" status as boot messages roll by).

That the failure relates to trying to do so? Did > you use Mageia's printer configuration? Did you try with CUPS? sorry to have been not so explicit: my aio 7300 officejet HP works very well, both as printer and as scanner; I can enable or disable all options(recto-verso printing, draft or normal or best, and so on...) the problem is WHY systemctl tells me that the printer config fails if it is not the case? this system (mga6-64), which is mga7, is an update of a mga6 system (thanks to T. Backlund, I have solved the problem of the pkg filesystem), and this printer was graphically configured a long time ago with mcc. During the mga6 period, it worked very well too.
Thank you Frank for reporting that your HP 3030 MF pops a similar failure, despite which (other problems apart, seperately bugged) it nominally works. @Peter: thank you for your clarification. > my aio 7300 officejet HP works very well, both as printer and as scanner So the printer works correctly. That is the main thing. > the problem is WHY systemctl tells me that the printer config fails if it > is not the case? In the light of this, assigning the bug to basesystem maintainers.

Hi bug reporter and hi assignee and others involved, Please reopen this bug report if it is still valid for Mageia 8 or 9(cauldron), and change "Version:" in the upper left of this report accordingly. This report is being closed as OLD because it was filed against Mageia 7, for which support ended on June 30th 2021. Thanks, Marja
