I am afraid I do not understand this bit.

[I think the Display Manager for Xfce ISOs is LightDM]
Please supply the following additional information:
 * If you try several times to login, does it eventually succeed? The other bug says that works (even though it should not be necessary).
 * Does it happen when unlocking the screensaver?
 * What keyboard layout you have, and is it correctly defined? [Mageia control centre - Hardware - Keyboard]

Regarding the previous comment:

I think so, it would be necessary to know if you put any "_" in the passwords

Thank you for your reply.

If you try several times to login, does it eventually succeed? NO
The other bug says that works (even though it should not be necessary).
 * Does it happen when unlocking the screensaver? I CAN'T CONNECT TO THE ACCOUNT SO THE SCREENSAVER IS NOT OPERATING
 * What keyboard layout you have, and is it correctly defined? YES

the keyboard is a AT Translated Set 2 keyboard
the Display manager LightDM
the problem occurs at login user session from DM
but the password works when replying to su XXXX
from the unique user account which work !

Finaly the system crashed at opening the computer connection.

After installing again Mageia 7 Xfce it works (with one user by security)
It works perfectly well with an another computer (2 users)

It was presumably due to a bad pixel in / partition.

Thank you for the attention
have a nice day.

Note that the other bug seems to have been resolved by system updates, kernel included.
Thank you for the extra information you gave, even if now it seems unimportant. And thank you for your patience.

Thank you for this encouraging news, in the light of which I am closing the bug. You can re-open it if you hit the problem again.

Sorry but after 1 day of correct login access, I can't login again.
This happen on computer A with only one user defined and with AUTOMATIC CONNECTION. Normally I shoudn't I been asked for the password.
When I give it, I am asked for again and again without any connection.
It worked by chance at one time.
When I have defined two users, and one allow me to connect, I can in a shell
make su XXXX and then the password allow me to open a shell for XXXX.
On computer B (with the same system) 2 users can be logged in normally !
I hope to have been clear.
Good night

@ muratorio

Do you also hit this bug when only using English characters in the user name and password (so no ñ, é and such)?

Comment 11 MURATORIO 2019-07-26 11:39:51 CEST
Thanks for your reply.
My passwords are composed of english letters (with some capital letters).
Finaly I gave up and used Mageia7.1.i586 with plasma environment.
Till now it work.
Thanks
Have a nice day.
Comment 12 Ricard Alfe 2019-07-26 14:29:23 CEST
Only when "_s" exists does it seem to correct it as "_S". I have also updated with iso Mageia 7.1 64 and now better
Comment 13 MURATORIO 2019-07-26 15:40:31 CEST
There was neither _ neither s
Thanks

I wonder whether this is due to:
- 7.1 rather than 7
- The change from Xfce to Plasma.

If you really no longer have the original problem, may we close this bug?
Comment 15 Ricard Alfe 2019-07-27 17:30:03 CEST
It is not the same error. It only happens to me after a "_" + lowercase letter, the following letter is converted to uppercase. "To me the error has reappeared. I have chosen to change all passwords
Comment 16 Lewis Smith 2019-07-27 22:41:08 CEST
The two bugs seem to be basically the same problem. Please comment the other one (bug 25133) henceforth.

It is already!
Comment 19 Lewis Smith 2019-11-22 13:28:53 CET
The same comment in the two bugs concerned.

@Ricard    re bug 25133
@MURATORIO re bug 25168
Please can you install the package 'ibus-gtk' and report back.

Without any known explanation, this has resolved obscure bugs (for example bug 25707, and others elsewhere) with a Spanish element.
