This is a feature and bugfix update for gamemode, a command line tool to launch games (or other CPU and GPU intensive programs) with optimal performance parameters (CPU "Performance" governor, I/O priority, disabling screensaver, etc.). It's a leaf package and no application depends on it, so it should be fine as an update to Mageia 7. Advisory: ========= Updated gamemode packages improve gaming optimisations This update provides gamemode 1.4, the latest upstream release including new optimisation features and bug fixes. See the release notes for details. To use it, prefix any command with `gamemoderun`, e.g. `gamemoderun supertuxkart`. It should temporarily enable various optimisations suitable for your device, such as setting the CPU governor to Performance if it was on Powersave, etc.
I've been using it on and off on Mageia 7 x86_64 since pushing the update candidate, everything seems to work fine.
