Description of problem: 5 HDD's in system. OS on single independent drive. 2 fake raid arrays, both of 2 disks, managed previously by dmraid. Upgrade to mageia 7, raid arrays not assembled or mounted. Diskdrake shows 5 individual disks. run 'dmraid -ay', then relaunch diskdrake to show OS drive, and the two assembled arrays. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Upgrade to mageia 7 from mageia 6. ******Additional Info********* This has been an unusual raid setup in the past: I've previously had to modify /lib/systemd/fedora-storage-init Please see https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=5191#p36311 fedora-storage-init appears (in mageia 7) to have been replaced with fedora-dmraid-activation, but modifying that fails to activate/mount arrays. I've modified /lib/dracut/modules.d/90dmraid/61-dmraid-imsm.rules as suggested in this bug : https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25027 even after mounting arrays, and running "dracut -f" the arrays are not activated/mounted upon reboot. /etc/fstab refers to the arrays by /dev/mapper/partition rather than UUID, I suspect this is a hangover from when this system was first installed many years ago (IIRC this is a updated Mandriva install), not sure if the use of /dev/mapper/id is no good with the move to UUID's. How reproducible: Each boot need to execute 'dmraid -ay' then mount arrays. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot 2. check mount points "mount", arrays not mounted 3. run 'dmraid -ay' then mount arrays.
is systemd-241-8.1.mga7 installed? do you have "noiswmd" on kernel command line ?

Yes, I removed that and booted. Raid arrays still not assembled, diskdrake shows 5 independent discs.
If thats what you have, then nope. you need systemd-241-8.1.mga7 that got pushed in: http://advisories.mageia.org/MGAA-2019-0062.html
After that is installed, re-create the initrd and try to reboot again
Oh, and you need "noiswmd". It tells mdadm to not try and activate the dmraid.

I did see that advisory, but no updates come through: I've since removed all repos, and re-added mirrorlist, a couple of updates come through (I had mirror trouble at update time, I just put that down to sync timing????) I rebooted: activated the arrays, mounted them, then ran 'dracut -f', rebooted, but still no luck: Is 'dracut -f' the correct command here to create the initrd?

Have tested with the new systemd: "rpm -q systemd systemd-241-8.1.mga7" Have ensured "noiswmd" is in the kernel command line. I have also tried with /lib/systemd/fedora-dmraid-activation lines 16-19 commented out. Still fails to activate arrays. I've forgotten to mention the chipset is intel ICH10R. What further info/testing would you like done?

Mageia 7 is EOL since July 1st 2021. There will not have any further bugfix for this release. You are encouraged to upgrade to Mageia 8 as soon as possible. @reporter, if this bug still apply with Mageia 8, please let us know it. @packager, if you work on the Mageia 7 version of your package, please check the Mageia 8 package if issue is also present. In this case, please fix the Mageia 8 version instead. This bug report will be closed OLD if there is no further notice within 1st September 2021.
