Description of problem:
When I try to add a new menu I receive the error:
"Traceback (most recent call last):

and for a new item I receive:

The other functions (like cut and paste) seem to work. Alcarte from gnome works.

4.0.0-1.mga7.x86_64

How reproducible: always, either in a Mageia-6 update or in a fresh installed mageia-7


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch cinnamon-menus
2. Try to add a new item or a new menu
3. No response from the system, with the error mentioned above.

The error remains in the Cinnamon menu editor in Mageia 8-RC (Live).

I see this in MATE and there's a possible solution to adapt.

Can someone please do this with a patch?
