Description Ulrich Beckmann 2019-06-25 15:18:39 CEST
HW is a ASUS K50J with MBR and an LVM volume group.
Media is Classical installer, x86_64, from 2019-06-23.

I assign an existing non-LVM partion to /boot and an LVM partion to / in a custom installation, expert mode. After formatting, I see the above message.

An error ocurred:
can't call method "val" on an undefined value.

The installation could not be continued then. The changes to the disk seem to be permanent.

I had seen the error yesterday. Reproduced it now to get the logs.

Pristine media.cfg file

According to ddebug.log, it failed when reading the media.cfg file. Please check the file /x86_64/media/media_info/media.cfg on your installation medium (DVD or USB stick) is not corrupt. It should be identical to this attachment.

You should be able to mount the installation medium and browse the files.

The same USB flash drive didn't boot on my UEFI system. So it is most probably worn-out. I will test with a new one.
@ Martin: Sorry that you had some extra work.
