Description Peter Littmann 2019-06-13 20:31:41 CEST
I want to say that I installed Mageia 7rc this morning (on /dev/sdc8) and I do not have an EFI partition.

During the installation I came to the point "Installation of the Bootloader" where I selected Grub2 and EFI was presented as method.
This could not be changed to BIOS method contrary to my expectation. I would like to select /dev/sdc.
Grub2 was probably installed in /dev/sda.

Sorry, I have to correct:
grubx64.efi was installed to /EFI/mageia which is on /dev/sda3.

Comment 2 Peter Littmann 2019-06-14 10:19:26 CEST
I did a new Installation now and choosed the BIOS Image in my Boot Setup Screen. This time the Installation offered me /dev/sdc and sda and sdb. But not Partition Boot Record or ESF.

So may be it works as intended and my Report may be closed.

Yes, if you boot the installer in UEFI mode, it assumes you want the installed system to be booted via UEFI.
