Description Tony Blackwell 2019-06-09 19:12:24 CEST
Feature request.

We have had some excellent backgrounds over prior releases.
It would be nice to have easy access to these older backgrounds, which seem to have disappeared in the upgrade (not initially with M7beta3, but M6 backgrounds disappeared with subsequent cauldron package upgrades).

For example, neat as the current M7 backgrounds may be, I've a personal preference for those of M6 in that to my eye they look better across multiple adjacent screens, seeming to flow from one to another.

This request is to assemble prior versions screen backgrounds in a package to enable easy access.
Tony

((Off topic:
Factors to consider in M8:
a. look good across multiple screens
b. Don't only assume left-to-right as current images have implicitly; our English and other European mode is to start at the left where M7 backgrounds leave empty real-estate to populate with icons; Others may prefer different layouts. I may of course have missed some of these in M7 already?))

Try the mageia-theme-extra package.

Please check pkg called mageia-theme-extra.
Comment 3 Tony Blackwell 2019-06-09 19:36:50 CEST
Thank you both.
Have I wasted a but number?...

mageia-theme-extra adds a couple of other current images, but non of the prior version backgrounds AFAICT. Likely this would indeed be the place to have them however. How to add prior background images to this rpm?
Comment 4 Jani Välimaa 2019-06-09 19:39:14 CEST
It ships old bg images also:

Then I've put in a feature request for something already there. Sorry, shouldn't do this just after a 23-hour international plane flight...
