Description Damian Damian 2019-06-03 17:34:17 CEST
Description of problem:

Hi. New Mesa from 19.1 rc branch broke all VAAPI apps on my hardware.
Tested on Mageia 7 RC x86_64 Plasma5.
Worth to add, on Caulron before updating to Mesa 19.1 all works fine. Downgrading mesa to 19.0X fix issue.
So Mesa 19.1 rc contains a regresion or this is rpm-package bug.

It crashing apps with vaapi support like MPV, Chromium vaapi and etc.

Log from terminal when apps crash.

EE ../src/gallium/drivers/r600/r600_shader.c:4290 tgsi_unsupported - DIV tgsi opcode unsupported
EE ../src/gallium/drivers/r600/r600_shader.c:185 r600_pipe_shader_create - translation from TGSI failed !
EE ../src/gallium/drivers/r600/r600_state_common.c:879 r600_shader_select - Failed to build shader variant (type=5) -22
EE ../src/gallium/drivers/r600/r600_shader.c:4290 tgsi_unsupported - DIV tgsi opcode unsupported
EE ../src/gallium/drivers/r600/r600_shader.c:185 r600_pipe_shader_create - translation from TGSI failed !
EE ../src/gallium/drivers/r600/r600_state_common.c:879 r600_shader_select - Failed to build shader variant (type=5) -22

I can reproduce this on two pc with r600 hardware. So this is likly a bug specified to Mesa 19.1 with r600.

How reproducible:

Install Mageia 7 rc (or any other with Mesa 19.1rc) and launch any app with vaapi like MPV (mpv --vo=vaapi <file>) or chromium with vaapi support. Watch as app crashing.

Thanks :-)

Assigning to you, anyway, because you're the registered maintainer and will know long before me whether there's a patch ;-)

Mageia 7 is EOL since July 1st 2021.
There will not have any further bugfix for this release.

You are encouraged to upgrade to Mageia 8 as soon as possible.

@reporter, if this bug still apply with Mageia 8, please let us know it.

@packager, if you work on the Mageia 7 version of your package, please check the Mageia 8 package if issue is also present. In this case, please fix the Mageia 8 version instead.

This bug report will be closed OLD if there is no further notice within 1st September 2021.

Hi bug reporter and hi assignee and others involved,

Please reopen this bug report if it is still valid for Mageia 8 or 9(cauldron), and change "Version:" in the upper left of this report accordingly.

This report is being closed as OLD because it was filed against Mageia 7, for which support ended on June 30th 2021.

Thanks,
Marja
