"Times Regular 11" seems to be a good default font size to correct the issue

I increased the default icon size from 36 to 40. It should help with mageiawelcome. Xfce's default icon size is even more bigger, 48. However, any other desktop icon with a long text is also wrapped and might look not so nice. All this is because I disabled the ellipsizing by default (bug 24462). I've been thinking about reverting the change as it seems to cause more issues than it solves. One can disable/enable ellipsizing if wanted with a small code snippet to gtk-3.0's gtk.css. $ cat ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css * { -XfdesktopIconView-ellipsize-icon-labels: 0; } System wide change would be in /etc/gtk-3.0/gtk.css.
