Description of problem: when you want to add Thunderbird to you Mageia 7 beta 3 in French, you do not download the French package with it. So it is in English and then you have to separately download the French package. After having succeeded in adding the French language to Thunderbird, the calendar is still in English. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Mageia 7, beta 3, 64 bits Thunderbird 60.6.1, 64 bits How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. install Thunderbird with a French Mageia 7 2. 3.
To be honest, I don't even know whether thunderbird-nl ever got automatically installed for me when I installed thunderbird. The maintainer and other people who submitted those packages will know whether the correct language package should automatically get installed. Assigning to the maintainer and CC'ing two submitters
Assignee: bugsquad => doktor5000Summary: French package for Thunderbird doesn't go with Thunderbird => thunderbird-fr doesn't get installed when installing thunderbird on a French system.CC: (none) => lists.jjorge, marja11, nicolas.salgueroSource RPM: (none) => thunderbird, thunderbird-l10n
This bug is old, but the system only installs automaticaly one language pack for thunderbird. So if a system has both english and french locale installed, it may autoselect only thunderbird-l10n-en_US. Closing as the bug is old, please reopen if you have more information.
for me all was OK till today : upgrade to thunderbird to 78.3.1 Now menus, under menus and folders all are in English those upgrade was done to thunderbird 78.3.1 and thunderbird-fr 78.3.1 No other thunderbird file installed. Notice : its now years long (more than 5 ! )that there are regularly same problems with thunderbird

@Norbert, Thanks reporting this. Thunderbird has passed Quality Assurance on both plateform (i586 and x86_64) on Mageia 7 systems. We are carefully look at this. For now, I really can't confirm this bug in any way. As suggested above, normally, urpmi detects current locale and install correct langpack for programs. What is your Desktop and can you provide output of : $ localectl Please report here some answers. Can you also do this: # urpmi --replacepkgs thunderbird thunderbird-fr

Point 1 : Answer to the question bash-4.4$ localectl System Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=fr_FR.UTF-8:fr VC Keymap: fr_CH-latin1 X11 Layout: ch X11 Model: pc105 X11 Variant: fr X11 Options: compose:rwin Point 2 : For me the problem is in the software himself: Why after upgrade in preferences/general/language/ the form shield is grey with nothing ? This happens often with thunderbird and if you you want to "set alternatives" you press on the arrow and find : -English (united states) -Search for more langages And if you search for more langages you only find "english (united states) ! Where are the other ?
Can't reproduce this inside M7, Cauldron and even a M7 32 bits on a VM. Closing this.
