Description of problem: In the Replace pane of Kwrite there's a Replace All button which should also be linked to the Alt+A keyboard shortcut; while clicking on the button works, the keyboard shortcut doesn't. I've tried this on another PC with Arch Linux (same Kwrite version) and the shortcut works fine. Please note that I've also tried the localized shortcut (in the it_IT locale it should be Alt+T, but that opens the Tools menu instead; in Arch Linux it's Alt+A that works). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 19.04.0 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Kwrite 2. Bring up the Replace pane (Ctrl+R) and type anything in the Find and Replace fields 3. Press Alt+A; the expected result would be to replace all found text or at least show the Replaced x occurrences message, instead an 'a' character is entered in the text field in focus, as if the Alt modifier had been ignored

If you install kate does it work now in kwrite?

No, it still doesn't work, and it's the same in kate now that I've installed it
Installed Beta3 and all updates as of today. In both Kwrite and Kate alt-A works Using Plasma. In Plasma - System Setting - Regional Set. - Configure P. translations : at top "no languages available on this system" below : 1: Am.Eng(default), 2: Br.Eng 3: dansk (=danish) in Regional Set. - Formats : Region= en_DA Time= sv_SE . The latter has probably nothing to do with Alt-A

Thank you for your info. I created a new user to make sure it wasn't because of some non-default settings, but the issue remained. However, when I changed the regional settings to American English Replace All worked correctly! So yes, it's definitely something linked to the it_IT locale. I've tried all possible combinations with Alt+letter: most of them just enter the letter, some open one of the menus, and Alt+S activates the Replace button ('Sostituisci'); the Replace All button ('Sostituisci tutto') either doesn't have an associated shortcut or it's overshadowed by another button or menu shortcut
Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade to the latest update of their distribution, and if this issue turns out to still be reproducible in the latest update, please reopen this bug with additional information. Closing as OLD.
