Please file a bug upstream

I reported on https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406145#c1
and also I found where the problem came from another person who has the same problem
it comes from the libdvd5 library contained in lib64v4l0-1.16.5 of the source package v4l-utils-1.16.5

I recompiled with the source "v4l-utils-1.16.3" and downgraded lib64v4l0-1.16.5 to lib64v4l0-1.16.3 and the kaffeine works well
Comment 3 David GEIGER 2019-04-25 17:12:16 CEST
So the issue come from v4l-utils version 1.16.5? or kaffeine needs just to be rebuilded against it (v4l-utils 1.16.5) to make it work?
Comment 4 David GEIGER 2019-04-25 17:25:04 CEST
So ok it is an upstream regression since release 1.16.5, it should be fixed in next v4l-utils-1.16.5-2.mga7 update!

For fedora reference:

Kaffeine does not need to be rebuilt just rebuild v4l-utils to version 1.16.3 and dowgrade package lib64v4l0-1.16.5 to lib64v4l0-1.16.3

there is commit but it does not resolve the bug
https://git.linuxtv.org/v4l-utils.git/commit/?h=stable-1.16

I have compiled with the patch from fedora
https://fedora.pkgs.org/rawhide/fedora-x86_64/v4l-utils-1.16.5-2.fc31.x86_64.rpm.html
"Changelog
2019-04-16 - Peter Robinson <pbrobinson@fedoraproject.org> 1.16.5-2
- Upstream fix for libdvbv5 (rhbz 1695023)"
 but always bug
Comment 6 patrice metz 2019-04-25 17:44:35 CEST
pending fix for version 1.16.5 I will continue with version 1.16.3 which works well with Kaffeine 2 :)
Comment 7 patrice metz 2019-04-25 23:25:45 CEST
new patch
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/attachment.cgi?id=1550940

I add this patch in v4l-utils-1.16.5-1.mga7.src.rpm and rebuild, now work well

Thank you very much to the redhat/fedora team and edpil02

Comment 8 David GEIGER 2019-04-26 15:11:58 CEST
So it should be really fixed in next v4l-utils-1.16.5-3.mga7 update!
Comment 9 Marja Van Waes 2019-04-26 19:58:54 CEST
Thanks for fixing this before I got a chance to read this report, David :-D

Closing, since v4l-utils-1.16.5-3.mga7 should by now have landed on all mirrors that don't lag.

Resolution: (none) => FIXED
